Obituary of Norman C. Taylor

Port Allegany - Norman C. "Red" Taylor, 80, of Eldred, died Wednesday (July 16, 2014), at his residence in Eldred. He was born Nov. 14, 1933, in Ceres, PA, a son of Charles Ray and Rose DeRemer Taylor. On July 1, 1956, in Eldred, he married Delila J. Keech, who survives. Mr. Taylor attended Shinglehouse area schools. He was employed for Hanley Brick in Lewis Run, had worked for Ethan Allen in Eldred, and worked in auto repair over the years. He was most noted for his work as a self employed Carpenter and working in heating and cooling. He was a member of the Turtlepoint Evangelical Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by: one son: Clifford Lee (Linda) Taylor of Eldred two sisters: Joyce (Leon) Nowicki of Cheektowaga, NY and Betty Hamer of Cuba, NY two brothers: James Taylor of Eldred and Ernest (Trudy) Taylor of Pittsburgh, PA three granddaughters: Christi (Mark) Helzerman of Rochester, NY; Tracy (Sean) Wright of New Lebanon, OH; Sarah (Jason) Redmon of Dayton, OH. 15 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Friday, July18, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc, 105 N. Main St, Port Allegany, PA. Funeral and committal services will be held on Saturday, July 19, at 11:00 AM, in the funeral home, with the Rev. Tony Edgell and the Rev. Clifford Taylor, co-officiating. Burial will be in Lamphier Cemetery, Eldred. In lieu of flowers, memorials, if desired, may be made to the Turtlepoint Evangelical Church, P.O.
