Obituary of Robert D. Thomas

Port Allegany - Robert D. Thomas, 77, of, Port Allegany, died Wednesday (August 6, 2014) in the Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport. He was born Jun 8, 1937 in Port Allegany, a son of Lester and Mildred Dillon Thomas, On June 28 1956 in Port Allegany, PA, he married Elizabeth Ann Crawford, who survives. Mr. Thomas was a 1956 graduate of Port Allegany High School. He was a veteran of U.S. Air Force, serving from 1956 to 1962. Mr. Thomas was a Furnace Operator, employed by Pittsburg Corning for 21 years , retiring in 2000 He was a member of the Methodist Church of Port Allegany. In his spare time he loved working with wood and during the summers his yard was filled with his projects. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter: Kelly Ann (Paul) Brockway of Alexandria, VA two sons: Robert (Kelly) D. Thomas of Louisville, KY and Kirk (Pamela Snyder) A. Thomas of Port Allegany, PA. 5 grandchildren and one sister Patricia Haskins of Lykens PA He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Jerry Dean Thomas and a daughter, Amy Sue Thomas. And a sister, Carol Rose Thomas There will be no visitation. Graveside memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 9 2014 in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany, with the Rev Randall Headley, Pastor of the Methodist Church of Port Allegany officiating.
