Obituary of Carole Ann McKeirnan

Smethport - Carole Ann McKeirnan, 79, of Smethport, passed away Tuesday (August 19, 2014) at her residence, surrounded by her family and faithful dogs following a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born Feb. 5, 1935, in Olean, NY, a daughter of Creighton and Dorothy Eighman Chesebro. On July 17, 1954, in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Smethport, she married Charles L. “Chuck” McKeirnan, who survives. Mrs. McKeirnan was a graduate of Bradford High School and was co-owner with her husband of C.L. McKeirnan, Inc., where she managed the business and was also a bus driver for 33 years. Carole was known for her generosity in helping those in need, especially children, and for her love of her family, friends and pets. Carole was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church of Smethport and she and Chuck were the year 2000 winners of the Catholic Charities Caritas Award. In addition to her husband, she is survived by: two daughters: Cindy (Tim) Wright of Cyclone and Becky (Gary) Seefeldt of Port Allegany two sons: Jerry (Marsha) McKeirnan and John (Marla) McKeirnan, both of Smethport 12 Grandchildren: Cory, Justin, and Colby McKeirnan, Amber Frye, John and Jason Goble, Akete Kindle, Melissa and Tim C. Wright, Brett Williams, and Jordan and Marianna Seefeldt 11 Great Grandchildren one sister: Nancy Yeager of Rew one brother: John Chesebro of Coleville, PA, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am Saturday in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Smethport, with the Rev. Vincent P. Cieslewicz, Pastor as Celebrant. Friends will be received by the family following the Mass at the Court of Angels on Main St. in Smethport. Memorials, if desired, may be made to St. Elizabeth's Church, 307 Franklin St., Smethport, PA 16749 or the McKean County SPCA, 80 Glenwood Ave., Bradford, PA 16701, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
