Obituary of Bernadine J. Kinney

Port Allegany-Bernadine J. Kinney, age 90, of Port Allegany died Saturday (May 9, 2015) in Cole Memorial Hospital of Coudersport, PA. She was born August 23, 1924 in Port Allegany, a daughter of Harold C. and Margaret J. Tumser Thrash. On November 20, 1948, in Eldred, PA, she married Robert F. Kinney, who survives. Mrs. Kinney attended Port Allegany High School. During World War II, she worked in Emporium, PA, and was later employed by the Market Basket of Port Allegany, working in the Deli. Mrs. Kinney enjoyed being at home and spending time with family and friends. She loved all animals, especially her dog "Jacko". She was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church of Port Allegany. In addition to her husband, she is survived by: one daughter: Becky Anjeski of Port Allegany one son: Col. Terry J. (Beverly) Kinney, Ret. of San Antonio, TX one daughter in law: Sherri Kinney of Port Allegany three grandchildren: Denise M. Hughes, Josh (Jorni) Kinney, and Brittany (Boe) Fogel five great grandchildren: Margaret Julia and Thomas Hughes, Saxton and Sawyer Kinney, and Brooks Fogel In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Thomas R. Kinney, two brothers: Jack and Thomas Thrash, and two sisters: Jane Caskey Belknap and Caroline Koroski. Following Bernadine's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services at this time. Burial will be in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Port Allegany. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Port Allegany Ambulance Service or the McKean County SPCA, 80 Glenwood Ave., Bradford, PA 16701.
