Obituary of Bernard Thomas Caldwell

Smethport - Bernard Thomas Caldwell, 84, of Smethport, died Friday (August 21, 2015) at his residence. He was born Jan. 28, 1931 in East Smethport, a son of Irvin and Mary Cooney Caldwell. On May 24, 1952, in St. Bibiana Church of Galeton, PA, he married Dolores Ann Walters, who survives. Mr. Caldwell was a graduate of Smethport High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954, during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Caldwell was employed by Pure Carbon, now Morgan AM & T, first in Roulette, then in Coudersport when it was relocated. He was a member of the American Legion; Potter Post #192 of Coudersport, PA and St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Smethport. In addition to his wife, he is survived by: one daughter: Linda M. (Steven) Hendrickson of Smethport two sons: Clark I. (Debora Domonkos) Caldwell of Eldred and Mark W. Caldwell of Rew seven grandchildren: Jennifer (Ronnie) Hollowell, Cory (Jennifer) Hendrickson, Katie (Matt) Fitzsimmons, Christopher (Nikki) Caldwell, Nicholas (Desirae) Caldwell, Jamy Caldwell and Mathew Caldwell twelve great grandchildren: Hannah, Nathan and Aidan Hollowell, Deacon and Beccah Hendrickson, Piper and Owen Fitzsimmons, Braxton, Tein, Summerlynn, Vania and Brazen Allen Caldwell one brother: Paul (Ruth) Caldwell of Buzzards Bay, MA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kelly Ann Caldwell, three brothers and one sister. There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 10 A.M., in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Smethport, with the Rev. Vincent P. Cieslewicz, pastor, as Celebrant. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery, Galeton. Military Honors will be accorded by the Potter County Honor Guard. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
